Tidal Wave Party 12

For the past 11 years we have built a venue for our community that was focused around a water park. When Universal decided to close the park, we didn’t know if we would continue to put on Tidal Wave but decided to move forward. Tidal Wave 11 proved that even without Wet n’ Wild, we could provide a fun and entertaining venue for our group. The queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race and the incredible Martha Wash along with the addition of two new DJ’s, kept the party going.

With the retirement of David Biehl, Tidal Wave 12 is a new beginning. We took your feedback and we will be adding more social events at our host hotel including bingo, singles mixer, couples mixer, Saturday night dance (Under Construction), a Sunday Tea Dance and the addition of a Sunday night buy out. We will also be adding a Sunday Bloody Mary Brunch, a travel agent, corporate airline & liquor sponsor, more vendors and an entertainment line-up to make Tidal Wave 12 a memorable one. We are also keeping the Disney Dining options available. We will also provide alternative events for weather related issues should the pool area need to close. We have looked into several water parks throughout the Orlando area and unfortunately, at this time, that is not a viable option. We are continuing to review all alternatives and will keep everyone updated as to any changes on that front.

Your feedback is important to us and it is our goal to compile this feedback and to make changes and improvements from this. We want an open door relationship and though we can’t guarantee that the changes will be instantaneous, please know that this event is about you and we want to make it as accommodating as possible.

Tidal Wave 12 will begin Thursday, May 31 and go through Monday, June 4 at the Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs Area. The entire 325-room property has been secured again this year and, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars alum Ginger Minj* will return as Mistress of Ceremonies for the weekend! In addition to the fabulous pool parties with our world-class DJs.

A Hard Hat Cabaret Show has been added to the schedule for Friday night. It will feature Ginger Minj*, Legendary Drag Performer from New York, Delighted Tobehere*, NBC The Voice’s own bear artist, Nakia, and a special guest performer*. There will be a Singles and Couples Mixer, Bingo (Cash & Prizes), Under Construction-a Saturday night dance, a silent auction benefiting The Make-A-Wish and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, an optional Sunday Bloody Mary Brunch, and the Sunday T-Dance to keep you entertained throughout the weekend.

HOTEL INFORMATION
Our host hotel, the Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs Area, fills up fast! To book your rooms, you must first purchase one of the Tidal Wave 2018 ticket packages. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive the online booking link. Please note, you must reserve a minimum of three nights for your stay at the Holiday Inn and must include Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The Holiday Inn has graciously extended room rates for Tidal Wave Guests, Wednesday, May 30th and Sunday, June 3rd. Hotel rates (not including taxes and fees) are as follows:

Standard View – $170

All reservations must be made with a major credit card. Three one-night deposits will be collected, the first night will be charged on or about March 1, 2018; the second night will be charged around April 1, 2018, and the third around May 1, 2018. There is a limit of only ONE room reservation per name. We cannot “hold” rooms.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations MUST be made prior to May 1, 2018 to receive a full refund.
Cancellations made after May 1-15, 2018 are subject to a two day hotel charge.
Cancellations made after May 15, are non-refundable and will incur a full three day hotel charge

La Fiesta de Los Osos 2018

La Fiesta de Los Osos will be held January 11-15th in Tucson Arizona.

Escape from winter and join the Bears of the Old Pueblo for fun in the sun, a chance to meet new friends, and explore what Tucson has to offer at our 20th annual La Fiesta de Los Osos! Official dates for La Fiesta 2018 are January 11-15th.

During the past eighteen Fiestas, over 3,000 bears and buddies from over 20 countries have enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of our desert city, making La Fiesta weekend one of the most anticipated bear events in the U.S.! As such, we choose to cap our attendance at 300 bears to make sure that La Fiesta is a size that’s fun, friendly, and intimate. Registration for Fiesta 2018 will be accepted until Saturday January 13th, 2018 with walk-up registration available! Your Fiesta gift and our hotel rates may not be available after December 31, 2017.

Day and half-day tours will be available every day, or you can just lay back and enjoy the sparkling pool and jacuzzi. A huge block of rooms has been reserved for Fiesta weekend attendees and the La Quinta Inn & Suites host hotel will be filled with BEARS, BEARS, BEARS!

SO WHAT DO I GET FOR MY REGISTRATION FEE?

Your registration includes three meals, entertainment and social activities, our famous Pinata Bust, and access to tours and free event shuttles. Registrants also get the reduced room rate and access to the events at the host hotel as well as an embroidered T-Shirt with the Fiesta logo.

FUR REAL DANCE

On Friday night, following the banquet and Bear Contest is our fourth annual DJ’ed ‘FUR REAL’ dance. Join Fiesta attendees and hot, friendly locals on the dance floor! Proceeds of this separate event (minus costs) go 100% to benefit local charities.

WHAT’S TO SEE AND DO WHILE I’M IN TUCSON?

Situated in an immense valley ringed by four stately mountain ranges with peaks as high as 9453′, Tucson, with a metropolitan population of over 1 million people, is a big city with all the amenities you’d expect but a friendly, small-town feel. Tucson has been continuously inhabited since at least 5000 BC, and has a wealth of history featuring native peoples, explorers and settlers, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo soldiers, Jesuit and Franciscan Missionaries, and old-west pioneers. Day and half-day tours will take Fiesta attendees on optional visits to prominent area attractions for everything from hiking to sight-seeing, green forests to desert mountains, animal-watching to spelunking!

WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE IN TUCSON IN JANUARY?

Daytime highs in Tucson during January are regularly in the 60’s with nighttime lows in the 40’s. In 19 years of past Fiestas (that’s about 90 event-days) we’ve had exactly four cold or inclement days. Bring clothing that reflects the warm days but cool nights and you’ll be set!

HOW DO I GET AROUND?

We’ll be running shuttles and event buses free of charge to most scheduled events.

WHAT’S TO EAT?

We will offer dining opportunities (at your own expense) to early arrivals on
Thursday evening. Meals included in your registration:

* Saturday night continues our traditional Fiesta Banquet and entertainment in the hotel ballrooms. We’ll feature a full meal with a variety of fine entrees, sides, deserts, beverages, and a cash bar.

* Sunday will feature a poolside BBQ with a full cash bar and soft drinks available.

* Our traditional Adios Amigos luncheon on Monday will be held offsite, but at your own expense.
